I have been asked a lot recently about the decision Orrin Woodward and I made to donate 100% of all author proceeds, royalties, etc. from the hard-cover version of Launching a Leadership Revolution to charity.  Orrin and I both feel strongly about our faith in Jesus Christ, and want to do all we can to give Him the glory for the things he has done in our lives.  We want to make sure everyone knows where the credit belongs!  Also,Leadership_revolutiob47f14_4 we share a soft-spot in our heart for children’s issues.

All Grace Outreach has given money in these areas.  They donate to the development of pastors who are spreading the word of the gospel of Jesus Christ both domestically and abroad, planning church plants, supplying pastors in areas of persecution, and supporting missions work.  Also, they have donated to orphanages and homes of shelter, and to programs that give food and protection to inner city homeless across the country.

Finally, Orrin Woodward and myself are affiliated with so many wonderful people all across North America, and for years we have had requests and suggestions about diferent ways to gather support and momentum for making a difference in our society.  When the LLR book was picked up by Time Warner (Time Warner Books was since purchased by Hachette Book Group), it seemed like a great opportunity not only to give back, but to also involve other people in the vision.  Every time a book sells, it generates money for the causes I just described.  In that way, everyone is participating.  If they like the book, and recommend it to someone else, they will not only be spreading leadership information but generating more for All Grace Outreach.

We have already (the book just came out October 22) received dozens of stories about how Launching a Leadership Revolution has made it into military bases, churches, schools, colleges, coaching staffs, and various leadership groups.  We look forward to hearing more!  If you have an interesting story to tell about the LLR, please post a comment on this blog so we can share it! (I intend to make the most interesting ones posts of their own, so they are not burried in the comment section).

On behalf of Orrin Woodward and myself, we thank you for your support of the book!  In addition to developing revenue for these causes, we sincerely hope that it helps in some way in your life, too!

Hey Chris! I can’t believe nobody has responded to this yet…
    Well, here’s my story:
We bought the first edition, read it, loved it. Then, we bought a second copy of first edition to get it signed by you and Orrin; we were only succesfull getting your signature. Then, we bought a copy of the new one, and surprise! Book signing time! Only got one signature (Orrin this time). Then we forget to bring our signed copy of the second edition when you were book signing, so bought another copy, which we eventually managed to get Orrin to sign as well. Phew – signatures done, time to buy a copy we can actually read…oops, mother’s birthday is coming up…why don’t we get Orrin to sign it happy birthday?
So, we have 4 copies of the book, only one of which hasn’t been signed and so is suitable for reading and tearing up (ie-highlighting and making notes). Need another copy of the new one – perfect timing! Comes down on system just before Christmas. Hey, my co-worker would love that book…Merry Christmas Jesse! (this one, by the way, will be making its way on to England in mid-February. Not sure if it’s in print over there or not, but at least one copy will make it!). So now, we have 3 copies of the book, 2 signed, and only one that can be marked up…and there’s Winter Leadership coming up! Time to study some self-discipline and make sure we buy one for ourselves…We just can’t keep this book in our own hands!
You guys are awesome! Keep up the not so good but really GREAT job! I am so excited about Feb 10! Can’t wait.

    Hey Chris,
I have passed this book onto so many different missionaries now that I have lost count. I recently gave a copy to a young man named Micah McElveen at Vapor Sports Ministry.
Micah at the age of 22 went to Kenya to start a sports ministy by which he could use soccer to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. Armed with 40,000 dollars and a brilliant plan, he encounted a serious problem that was hindering his ministry. He was beset with a community of over 1500 people who would have to travel 6 miles just to get water and it was dirty at best. So what did this young man do? Via the internet and e-mail, he raised $100,000 and built a well that now services the entire community.
The Lord has increased his vision to plant 40 more of these wells along with the community center and sports ministry outreach programs. At 24 years old, Micah has seized upon this vision and is developing a program to train leaders to continue to run these centers for a long time in the future.
I recieved a call about two weeks ago and he raved about your book. I will be going on a missions trip to Kenya in June with him and will continue to spread the wisdom you and Orrin so graciously shared with us by passing this book to every potential leader I come in contact with. This book is Gold and just one way that I can pay it forward. God Bless

    Steve:
What an exciting story about Micah overseas doing the Lord’s work! Incredible. I am truly thankful God has seen fit to use our book to reach people and touch lives. Thank you for being such a great ambassador for the TEAM and its leadership principles. It’s people like you who are making a difference!
Tell Micah we will be praying for him!
