    Chris,
Your cartoon actually happened to me when I was in the Army! A staff sergeant (grade e-6)came into the break-room where I was teaching a CPR class (I was stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center). I was a specialist (grade e-4). He promptly kicked me and my class out (also junior enlisted members, of course) so he could – you guessed it – eat his lunch!
He literally shoved his collar in my face and said, you see those stripes, SPECIALIST…
The best part came 4 years later when I had earned my degree and was a captain stationed at…you guessed it… Walter Reed.
I was overseeing a disaster drill (complete with simulated “patients”) when an obese staff sergeant comes rolling up in a wheelchair. Yes, it was him, tasked to play a patient in the drill, and still a staff sergeant.
The sweet justice came when I approched him with my sergeant-in-charge (e-7)right behind me. The sergeant in the wheelchair recognized me and my captain’s bars and exclaimed “$%^&$%!#@$ – A CAPTAIN!” This immediately got the attention of my sergeant-in-charge who was about to give him an earful for disrespecting an officer.
I signaled my sergeant to stand down and engaged in a polite dialogue. About halfway through, he began calling me “Sir”. I didn’t need to bring up the past, it simply wasn’t necessary.

We ended the conversation with my “Well, good luck to you sergeant” and his “You too, captain.”

“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Hey Chris! I am not entirely sure how to submit things to you that are new and not in response to something you’ve already posted, so I’m just going this route. I thought these pictures were moderately humorous, so if you want to use either as a caption contest, feel free. Please note the person in the background of the fish picture. If you’d like to try and put a face to this message, when you were in St. Louis last weekend I attempted to speak to you(even though it came out like I was a junior-higher asking a girl to a dance)and I told you for no apparent reason that I had recently gotten married. I hope by the time I speak on TEAM stages I’ll not be so nervous talking to policy council members. Oh, I also talked to you in the lobby at the end of the night. If you still can’t picture me, I can’t help you! haha I’ll just have to re-introduce myself to you at the major. If anything I’ve just typed seems stalkerish, please insert a SANGUIN inflection and it’ll just be funny. LOL
You the man!! Thanks for everything!!

Egotists are always unhappy! If they are not talking about themselves they are unhappy because there aren’t enough people talking about them. When they do talk about themselves then they are unhappy because they are too busy talking to hear all the great things being said about themselves.

You are absolutely right in the way you handled that situation! Appreciate the scripture, too. Excellent. Thanks for adding to the value of this site with your experience.
