Why is it that when we are little children everybody tells us to dream big dreams and realize that "we can be anything we want to be," but when we grow up they tell us to "be realistic?"

Why is it that when I spent tens of thousands of dollars on a formal education everybody said, "good job, you're doing so well," but when I spend just $10 on an educational CD they tell me I'm getting ripped off?

Why is it that our country has been known as "the Land of Opportunity" but more and more of its citizens want it to be a "Land of Equalized Results?"

Why does someone running for higher office talk about how wrong it is to make large amounts of money when his jet plane and security force are paid for by taxes collected from those who made the money in the first place?

Why is it that someone who succeeds at something is suddenly called an exploiter of those who freely chose to pay for his services to them?

Why is it that mediocrity is heralded while excellence is painted as greed or arrogance?

Why do "intellectuals" cling to the concepts of communism when hundreds of thousands of deaths were required to try to convince the world that it worked?

Why is doubt a mark of intelligence and hard work a sign of ignorance?  (In the new vernacular of intellectuals:  "I doubt, therefore I'm smart.")

Why is mankind doomed to repeat its same mistakes over and over again?

Sin, my friend. Lowering the bar for man since 4000 B.C.
All those years of living down to people’s expectations sure have given us lots of practice too. We’re all getting pretty stinkin’ good at it. Thank God for the Team and leaders who challenge us to think differently.

I really hope that you and Orrin put these recent articles in a place where we can be reminded of these principles! These are truly nuggets of gold! Thanks!

    Chris:
    Why is definitely the question.
With a million people goal, and one person who can make a difference, Team will change that.
I thank God that I am part of this Team and thank God for all the leaders like you and Terri, Orrin and Laurie, Tim and Amy, and all the rest of the leaders who are setting the example for us.
    God Bless.

    Chris,
I want to thank you for these great writings that date back to The Quilt. I recently re-watched Bagger Vance and had a conversation with my husband John after it was over about what the film was teaching us. It is a beautiful movie.
Your writing on friendship helped me as well because I love to make friends and have friends but sometimes am a bad judge of character with making new friends. It is easier to stay in touch with my kindergarten friends than expand my friendships. In most of the leadership books I read or the Team CD’s, in order to be successful associating with the right people is important. These type of people are more easily found in a teaching and training system like the Team than in the our everyday life. After being away from my system for awhile I have realized that making friendships in our system environment seemed at the time easier and more true. After being away form the group I feel more like the person who was part of a drinking group and then decided to not drink anymore so the friendship was dissolved. Even though my system stressed friendship there is also some talk that if they were truly your friends they would join your fight with you. I now do not agree with this so much. I have reflected on past conversation or actions and come to the conclusion that most that was said and done was for their own gain and not for my best interests or strengthen a friendship. This attitude from people I knew before being part of a system. I have learned a lesson through all of this and that is to make sure I still accept and work at relationships with people who have a different path than I do.
I am reading “Why We Want You To Be Rich,” by Trump and Kiyosaki. In previous books I have read by Kiyosaki he usually has some mention of why he likes direct selling business, in this book I really liked this clarification. ” Select an organization for the education aspect more than for the compensation.” I got to wondering if there was a way for Team to pair up with these men. They keep talking about their love for teaching and helping the people, the 90%ers. Of the little I know about you and the Team system, I see lots of similarities. Why else would you have this blog?
Since some of your writing had a political tone I was wondering if you have read Trump’s “The America we Deserve?” Apparently Trump has some ideas on how we can make America better. I would like to see more businessmen in office, men like Dell, Gates, Trump, Kiyosaki, who understand business and people. I had assumed Trump was rich and that was that, but did you also know the reason he agreed to make the TV Series ” The Apprentice” was to teach business to the rest of us. Both Robert and Kim Kiyosaki watch every week to learn more. I have watched it a few times and learned something, but thought it was just a reality show, but I may find some value in it now if I can get passed all of the commercials. Maybe it is on Demand.
Thank you so much. The way you write helps me to remember and think about what you are teaching.
    Take care,
    Lisa Thiessen

Why? Is a good question…. Somehow I don’t think you’re really looking for answers. Just making valid points. I appreciate these questions, and can truly relate. Thank you chris Brady, Orrin Woodward, and the life business.

I’d actually love to hear your insight on this, Chris Brady. Do you address these questions in a subsequent blog post or is it more for us to answer ourselves…or BOTH? Your insight is always so valuable to me. Thanks for your leadership!
