$700 Billion is a lot of macaroni! That's how much our all-knowing government just HAD to bequeth to the insurance and mortgage entities that had gotten themselves into trouble by taking just a little too much advantage of government-created boom cycles. It was an emergency, if you remember. The whole world would have collapsed if we hadn't rushed through that legislation. And ALREADY they are saying much of it has been squandered and they don't know where!

Furthers my belief that We, as in the United States, need a government which serves the needs of the people and not the needs of its politicians’ checkbooks.
Until then, we’ll just have our mentors and our wonderful leaders on the policy counsel & round table, and, of course, TEAM & Mona Vie.LikeLike

Hi, Chris,
I was going to talk about the Team/Mona Vie Bail Out Plan, and I see someone had the smarts to beat me to it . . .
Speaking of bail out plans . . .
We had someone who borrowed money from us a bit over a year ago. She’d gotten into a bad family situation, got behind on rent and was trying to catch up. Well, the money wasn’t enough, and she was going to get evicted. We took pity on her and bailed her out, saying she could live here for 3 months while she paid back the loan.
What a mistake that was! It took 8 months, dozens of her broken promisses (the loan was paid back and then board was paid after, more or less), dozens more of her excuses and finally consultations with our lawyer to get rid of her!
We made our library of book, videos and CD’s available to her. She wanted none of them. We decided she didn’t want to fix her life; she just wants others to make it better for her.
It was only when we got disgusted enough with her, ourselves and the situation (and life presented us with an urgent need for the room for our own kids for a short term that is now over) that we made the drastic step of literally booting her out. She continues to insist we bail her out of other stuff, and we have shut the door and our ears to it.
It will only be when enough of us get as upset as my husband and I did at this person, when we collectively get that upset with the interlopers in our wallets through these governmental bail outs and loans, that they will stop.
They used to run a segment on one of the television news networks about government waste, and it was about “Your Money.” Well, this is our money the government is throwing around, too. When I think of what that money could do back in our wallets or donated by us as a country of individuals to favorite churches or charities, it makes me ill . . .
The insurance and financial industries have moved into our country’s fiscal “guest room,” and now the auto makers want to join the crowd. It’s time we served an eviction notice, already!LikeLike
