Vote Would you agree that for most of us in what is left of the "West" (a term defining a civilization, culture, and heritage more than a geographic location), we have descended from voting for the lesser of two evils to voting for the evil of two lessers?

U.S. to Respond to North Korea with ‘Strongest Possible Adjectives’
Obama: We are Prepared to Consult Thesaurus
One day after North Korea launched a successful test of a nuclear weapon, President Obama said that the United States was prepared to respond to the threat with “the strongest possible adjectives.”
In remarks to reporters at the White House, Mr. Obama said that North Korea should fear the “full force and might of the United States’ arsenal of adjectives” and called the missile test “reckless, reprehensible, objectionable, senseless, egregious and condemnable.”…

    Chris,
I am astonished. This post seems incredibly disillusioned and pessimistic of you.
I will readily agree many times I feel like I vote for the lesser of two evils. (New York politics is filled with them, unfortunately.) However, every so once in a while, I hear of someone special. Someone who stands up for what’s right and isn’t afraid to speak out on what’s both wrong and right with our government from his/her position as an elected official. Someone who, if they ran for elected office in my district, I would be proud to cast my ballot to help get elected.
There aren’t many of them left in Washinton, or even in the legislatures of our states. But there are still some. You have to look hard for them, because they do their jobs with dignity and without a lot of publicity-seeking. I personally know one or two, and they have assured me there are more.
Our fight as the Team is to change our culture enough so we insure the entire government is again populated with them eventually, even if it means populating it with members of the Team itself.

    Chris,
I remember in high school for the 1992 presidential election, I created a drawing to vote for ‘NOTA’, None Of The Above.
I think there was a movie with Richard Prior (“Brewster’s Millions”) where he was running in an election and he was promoting for everyone to vote for NOTA.
    Interestingly decisive,
    John

Howdy Chris, John mentioned the years that we were encouraged to vote for “none of the above”. If we want to get the “evil” out of government elections we need to start at the grass roots. We can’t expect to vote for the “good guys” in the general election if we haven’t supported them in the primaries We need to find the “good guys” in the primaries and not only vote for them, but encourage our neighbors to vote for them. As citizens each of us has a “right” to vote. But we need to do more than vote. We need to be out there not only supporting the “good guy” during the campaign but after they are elected and working to make positive changes. I am watching and waiting for the next “good guy” to run for election and take on the “bad guys”. Go get’em John Wayne
Excited about the positive attitude and strength of the “TEAM” Skipper

    Cathy,
I wouldn’t say Chris is being pessimistic. As you stated, you have to look hard to find anyone with credibility. We simply haven’t been offered up any of those folks as options recently.
The reason I would argue that Chris is actually optimistic is based on something that you stated in your post. Chris intends to do something about it along with some ‘rascalous’ folks from Team. I agree with you. We can always be optimistic as long as we decide to do something about it.
He is merely defining reality so we know what needs to be changed.

    Vote Third Party!
Maybe someday a third party can come around and give the two tired-out political parties a run for their money (since money seemingly is the root of all evil).

You say that we have a choice of voting for the lesser of two evils or the evil of two lessers. I say we have the choice of voting for the leftist of two evils or the evil of two leftists.
