Personal growth is a must for any would-be leader. Taking stock of progress made in that regard is both encouraging and instructive. It can remind us of the territory covered and inspire us to grow further toward our ideal. In that spirit, I would like to hear from all three of my readers. If possible, complete the following phrase in one sentence. In this way, we can learn from and become encouraged by each other. Also, we can use our progress in 2009 to launch into 2010 with a full head of steam.

The biggest lesson I learned in 2009 is ______________________________________.

The biggest lesson I learned in 2009 is that if it’s to be, it’s up to me. I found that this applies to relationships, business, my well being (can’t rely on the government), etc. 2009 was a learning and eye opening year for me! Largely due to you and Claude Hamilton I’ve found a huge passion in history and economics, how they apply to our country and how I can be a piece of the puzzle to fix the problems we see all around us.

The biggest lesson I learned in 2009 was that no matter how many years of engineering experience I have, it still didn’t keep me from getting laid off! Good thing I had just signed up with Team two months earlier and helped reinforce my dream of escaping the cubicle!! lol

It all boils down to the depth of my relationships, whether with God, my self, my family or my business and all will benefit from strengthening of the other areas.

Activity does not always lead to (the) desired results. However, no activity…., no results. Focussed activity, with the guidance of a mentor – who has fruit on the tree, can be life changing!

Wow! To actually pick one lesson learned is a challenge! I just finished my first full year of being on the team and I can’t even put into words what it has given me!!! It has opened my eyes and changed my views of people, situations, relationships, God and myself!!! I am anxious to grow, learn and do more in 2010 and look forward to the many more lessons that I will learn through the leadership of the TEAM!!! In the words of Tiny Tim…God Bless Everyone!

The biggest lesson I have learned in 2009 is that I am capable of reaching goals and ultimately the success I desire. Yes, I can, but no I am not running for public office. It is now my job to help others come to this same liberating realization.

The biggest lesson I learned in 2009 is to just do the work. The work being to grow yourself first, your team & family will only grow as much as the leader has grown. So in 2009 I went from reading 2 complete books in 10 yrs to reading 4.35 of the top 5 books & 7 others over the past 9 months. The goal is 2 books per month. How much 2010 changes from 2009 will be how much you change yourself. It starts with reading! Thank you Chris for all you do & fighting for Freedom!

The biggest lesson I learned in 2009 is that it’s not what you know, and it’s not who you know.
It’s how you connect yourself with what you know and who you know and who and what they know.

This past holiday season I saw a lot of photo albums that say…Live, laugh, love. That is so true because life is short and it goes by fast. I agree with Jon too- God gave us life, laughter and love- a daily reminder of our blessings!

The biggest lesson I learned in 2009 is that pain is rarely a bad thing and comfort is rarely a good thing. Both are deceiving. Reminds me of what Bill Lewis said at the Oct 2009 major, a quote from Don Juan “The difference between an ordinary man and a warrior is that a warrior takes everything as a challenge, while an ordinary man takes everything as a blessing or as a curse.”
    God bless!
