IMG_8171  There is an occupation that is experiencing significant growth.  It has low entry requirements and can be had by literally anyone. Hordes are stampeding in that direction with noses acutely tuned to the smell of the gravy train. The position? That of a victim.

Playing the part of the victim is becoming America's national sport. How could it be otherwise when it makes for such a perfect marriage between The State on one hand and Victims on the other? With a government fully vested in stoking the anger of its victim groups in order to secure more power for itself, institutionalization of victimhood is then well established. The proposition is equally attractive for individuals because once claiming the status of a victim one is relieved of any personal responsibility.  This is because victimhood bestows an entitlement to blame others, justify bad behavior, and escape the consequences of one's actions.

There is another occupation with many positions available immediately. There is very little competition to hold these posts and again, anyone can apply. The position? That of victor.

Becoming victorious after a mighty struggle in pursuit of worthwhile purposes has a long and glorious history. Significance, contribution, service, love, and achievement are the rewards. Although many will give a silent head-nod in the direction of this occupation, few actually pursue it. With victimization so profitable, what's the point? Others languish in between, frozen between the two poles, wasting their time in complacent obscurity. But there are those wonderful victors who choose to take personal responsibility and maximize their gifts by leaving the herd to pursue excellence.  It is these who warm the rest of us to aspirations of our own.  May we ever be thankful for the victors and their example.

We all get to make the choice daily.

May we choose wisely and become part of the solution group of victors instead of the problem group of victims.

    Chris,
I just read some information on hypothermia and it called the people with hypothermia as “victims”. I I see and hear the people call themselves victims, I can see how they relate to having hypothermia, frozen in time, uncontrollable actions, lack of thinking, etc.
Thanks for the great article and picture!

Thanks for being one of the victors! May those of us inspired by you refrain from the middle ground (hopefully none reading this are victims) and passionately pursue greatness!

    Chris:
I agree with Rick. We have such examples of victors in you and Terri that applying for the victim position, while popular today, is unacceptable. Thanks so much, and God Bless.

    Amen, Chris!
We are down in Bogota, Colombia, adopting our son right now. We just had the same conversation with our representative here and also the orphanage director. Poverty in the US means cable TV, a home or apartment, but only ONE vehicle. Some of the barrios here are very similar to the favelas in Brazil- anyone here would die to live in the type of poverty that we have in the US. It costs less than $1 per day to take care of the children in this particular orphange; ask anyone in the US to live on that and they would say it’s not “fair”. It’s sad to see the state of our nation, and where it’s heading.
Many thanks to you, Orrin, Tim, and the rest of the PC for turning the tide and helping people think with their own minds instead of being programmed by the media.

Howdy Chris, I was reading last night how the Founding Fathers were concerned about giving congressman both power and money, ie, they have the power to make law and we pay them very well.
In other words they didn’t want people running for Congress because of the amount of pay they receive. They wanted people running for Congress because of their desire to serve their country. Today we have many in Congress who are there for the money and the power.
The point of this and how it relates to your article is that when the government comes to the aid of those who are playing the victim the power of the government is increased dramatically.
Let victims remember when someone gives them something that they have not earned it can also be taken away. Skipper

The Majority see the obstacles, the Few see the objectives. History records the success of the latter while OBLIVION is awarded to the former.

Thanks to you and Terri for showing us the path that enables us to become one of the “latter” persons in this life.

I have to ask myself why is it so easy to have the victim verses victor mentality?? Most of my life it seems like I floundered within the confines of the victim thinking being reactive rather than proactive, dwelling in the past rather than looking forward, very much focused in me rather than others. I am forever thankful that the Team came into my life four years ago and changed the whole paradigm of how I built my life around my needs, learning and practicing true principles of success, love, and LIFE! After all, these principles of success, love, and life are not truly real and can be experienced until shared and given away….and only a victor has the mental, physical, and spiritual capacity to do this, and nowhere like the Team community does it better for such a thing in such a time as this….thank you!
