IMG_4259As I depict in my book, A Month of Italy: Rediscovering the Art of Vacation, one of the most interesting aspects of travel is the chance to notice things that are usually obscured by the bustle of daily living. This is even more true when traveling internationally, when so much is unfamiliar, and, well, foreign. I particularly enjoy the signs and other public displays that make it across the language barrier a little worse for wear. Sometimes, something IS lost in the translation. These are hilarious! I bet they got the person who spoke the “goodest” English to translate them, too!

Great way to start off the day with a smile and a laugh! Boy I guess some stuff really does get lost in translation! I especially like the one “Dear Runners, Caution, you are about to run alongside railway tracks, please run in the center of the road”.

These sure were funny…..thanks for taking the time to put them on here so we can all share a laugh. I am REALLY curious what the “VIAGRA” flavor tastes like….I guess that is why the Italians have such a reputation as being lovers and not fighters.

Indeed very good one. I am sure they would have find a finest English speaker who translated everything so nicely. Great art with great speaking pictures. ๐Ÿ™‚
